Why We Built FeedMango

Feedback tools shouldn't cost $79/mo. That's it. That's the blog post. Ok fine, there's more.

The moment that started it all

We were looking for a feedback tool. Something simple: let users submit ideas, let others vote, show a roadmap. That's it. Not a CRM. Not an AI-powered enterprise suite. Just an upvote button and a list.

Then we saw the pricing. $79/mo for the starter plan. $359/mo if you have more than 1,000 users interacting with your board. For a feature that's essentially a list with a button.

We thought: surely there's something cheaper? There is โ€” but it's either ugly, abandoned, or charges per board, per seat, or per something else that adds up.

The gap we saw

The feedback tool market has two extremes:

  • Expensive and polished: Canny, UserVoice. Great tools, enterprise pricing. Built for companies with dedicated product managers and budgets.
  • Free and rough: Fider (open source, self-hosted). Works, but looks like it hasn't been updated since 2019. You need to run your own server.

Nothing in the middle. Nothing that looks good, works well, and doesn't charge you more than your hosting bill.

What we believe

A few principles that guide how we build FeedMango:

  • Feedback tools should be affordable. If your users are doing you the favor of telling you what to build, the tool shouldn't bankrupt you.
  • Free plans should be real. Not 25 users. Not 10 days. A genuinely usable tier that lets you decide if the tool works for you.
  • Simple beats feature-bloated. You don't need 47 integrations on day one. You need an upvote button, comments, and statuses. The rest can come later.
  • Software can be fun. Why does every SaaS product sound like it was written by a committee? We'd rather be honest and a little weird than corporate and forgettable.

Where we are now

FeedMango launched in January 2026. We have the core features: upvoting, nested comments, boards, categories, statuses, team roles, roadmap view, search, and email notifications. It works. It's fast. It costs $3/mo or less.

We're not pretending to be Canny. We don't have AI features or Salesforce integration. We're not trying to replace your help desk. We're building a focused, affordable feedback tool for teams who don't want to overthink this.

What's next

We use FeedMango to build FeedMango. Literally. Our feature requests board is public. You can vote on what we build next. Custom domains, embeddable widgets, Slack integration โ€” it's all on there. We build what gets voted up.

If you're looking for a feedback tool that doesn't cost a fortune and doesn't take itself too seriously, give us a try. If we're missing something you need, tell us. That's kind of our whole thing.
